Mayan World and Copan ruins activities

Since few years, COPAN Ruinas has already acquired the statute of the first tourist destination of the country.

In 1980, UNESCO classified the archeological site MAYA of COPAN, inheritance of humanity.

The village, picturesque and pleasant, has a good infrastructure of hotels, restaurants and services to make your stay enjoyable. The village is also known for its world renowned cigars, colorful crafts and sculptors who reproduce steles of Maya god.

The archeological site receives more than 100.000 visitors per year, for the beauty of the site and the strong emanation of its MAYA past. The site is divided in 4 zones, each one has its particular interest. The Maya museum is a must, it counts with over 3,000 steles and the famous and impressive pyramid Templo Rosa Lila.
